How it Started

During COVID, Josiah and Lisa met an amazing group of friends — Freya, Rachel, and Grace — who helped bring their vision to life online. Together, they used their professional skills to produce a short film that could be submitted to the Discovery Channel for the show Outback Opal Hunters.

The project was a lot of fun and quickly became an event in Yowah. Twelve months later, Discovery accepted the submission — and that’s how The Digidiggers were born.

🎬 Freya Maude, a professional film artist, recorded and produced the Discovery pitch. You can see her work here: Vimeo Portfolio.

📸 Rachel Maude went on to photograph and document the opal fields, capturing stunning visual stories through her lens. View her work here: Rachel’s Instagram Highlights.

💎 Grace Griffin, our ground support (and chief of snacks), now designs beautiful jewellery in Melbourne. Explore her creations here: Cosmic Artifact.

These amazing women gave their time, passion, and energy freely — something that will forever be appreciated and remembered.
